Aaron Afflalo Traded To Denver For Fournier & 56th Pick

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo.com is reporting that Orlando Magic Guard Aaron Afflalo has been traded to the Denver Nuggets for Evan Fournier and the 56th pick in today’s NBA draft. There has been a little confusion as to why the trade was made for so little when Afflalo is able to be a contributing piece to any team in the league. It seems as if Afflalo is heading towards opting out of his contract at the end of the upcoming season and the Magic were at least wanting to get something for him. This also allows more of their younger talent to get playing time in major minutes. Aaron has been linked to the Lakers a few times in the past through various trade rumors and supposedly has been on their radar. It remains to be see what his plans are for the following off season, but it looks like he’ll be looking for a new situation if Denver doesn’t work out.
