David Aldridge States That Lakers Are Top Suitor For Kyle Lowry
In a small blurb in a mock draft article published on Monday June 23rd, David Aldridge of NBA.com stated that the Lakers are the top suitor for Kyle Lowry. Kyle Lowry is currently an unrestricted free agent point guard who just finished up a season with the Toronto Raptors. It was a contract year for Lowry and his play certainly reflected that with him having one of the best seasons of his career. He was able to help lead the Toronto Raptors to the playoffs for the first time in 5 season.
Lowry would certainly be a great help to the team, but wouldn’t be the top attraction of the offseason. His play was great last season, but it being a contract year, he was obviously looking for a huge pay day. If he were to join the Lakers and they had a marginal season, would he get bored again or would he perform as well as he did last season? If the Lakers were able to sign him, depending on the moves they’d make the rest of the off-season, it would be possible that the Lakers would be left with enough cap space to sign a max free agent next off-season. Kyle Lowry is a huge target for many teams this off-season and it will take a great deal to convince him to join the Lakers.
