NBA Draft Rumors Monday 6/23/2014

Tom Ziller of SBNation.com is reporting that the Bucks owner has stated that they will not draft Joel Embiid with their first pick (2nd overall) of the 2014 NBA draft. It is down to Jabari Parker and Andrew Wiggins at this point with Parker considered to be the heavy favorite at this point. The Bucks owners stated that their decision was made easier to not draft him when Embiid was injured as they are looking for someone that can help from Day 1 which they would get in Parker or Wiggins.

Jabari Parker Draft

In Jabari Parker related news, Chad Ford has reported that Parker tanked his workout with the Cavaliers as he would much prefer to be picked by the Milwaukee Bucks who have the second overall pick. The Cavaliers could potentially still take Parker at the first position in the draft, but it seems unlikely at this point after what took place at the last workout.

Joel Embiid’s agent, Arn Tellem, is apparently controlling which teams get the medical info of his client. This is obviously in an attempt to direct specific teams towards drafting him. I would imagine they’re hoping that he falls to #6 or #7 as the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers have those picks respectively.
